Welcome to Our New Program Assistant!

Last month Ocean Connectors achieved another important milestone when we hired our first part-time employee, Program Assistant Danielle Tentschert. Ocean Connectors interviewed many talented candidates, and Danielle stood out for her passion for environmental conservation and broad background in biology, psychology, and child development. Danielle has traveled and studied around the world, including living in Italy for four months during her undergraduate studies through the University of California Santa Cruz, and traveling to Baja, Belize, and Africa to conduct research for her Zoology Master’s program through Miami University.

welcome DanielleDanielle is excited to utilize her Spanish skills, work with local schoolchildren, and assist with grant writing to help grow Ocean Connectors. Danielle has already started leading our fourth grade Sea Turtle Discovery field trips at the Living Coast Discovery Center on Mondays through Thursdays, and hopes to have a long future with this organization. She is ready and equipped to take on a leadership role to help expand our programs to all ten schools in National City School District.

Ocean Connectors looks forward to utilizing Danielle’s past eleven years of experience with teaching and her lifelong passion for marine biology to continue improving Ocean Connectors. We are tremendously thankful to our partners, particularly the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, for providing the funding to support this vital new position within Ocean Connectors.

You can join us in welcoming Danielle at danielle@oceanconnectors.org!
