SUMMARY:Wildlife Kayaking Eco Tour
DESCRIPTION:Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve\n\n\n\nDid you know that San Diego provides foraging habitat for the Eastern Pacific green sea turtle? This small feeding population consists of about 60 individuals\, and they migrate to islands off the coast of Mexico to lay their eggs. Includes a two-hour guided kayaking tour inside the South San Diego Bay. Kayakers use waterproof binoculars and field guides to observe wildlife as they paddle through the Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve with local experts leading the way.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrip Highlights\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEco Tours offer a unique experience showcasing the South San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge\, the nearshore waters of the Pacific Ocean\, and the many species that inhabit this biodiversity hotspot. Join Ocean Connectors and Chula Vista Kayak on a two-hour guided kayaking tour in South San Diego Bay. Kayakers glide through the Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve spotting wildlife and learning about natural history and coastal wildlife from local experts. \nGuests meet at Bayside Park in Chula Vista where they receive an introductory talk before embarking in two person kayaks from the Chula Vista Boat Launch. The tour runs approximately two hours and takes guests along the south end of the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge and into the tidal channels of the Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve\, where we observe a wide variety of wildlife species. Guests can expect to see many species of migratory and resident birds\, as well as stingrays\, mullet\, and occasionally green sea turtles\, which inhabit the San Diego Bay. Kayaks\, binoculars\, field guides\, and life vests are provided. This tour is recommended for ages six and up\, and is a great option for beginner-kayakers. \nBest of all\, tickets directly support the Ocean Connectors free educational programs for local students! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
