Wildlife Kayaking Eco Tour

October 16, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

$30.00 – $50.00

Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve

Did you know that San Diego provides foraging habitat for the Eastern Pacific green sea turtle? This small feeding population consists of about 60 individuals, and they migrate to islands off the coast of Mexico to lay their eggs. Includes a two-hour guided kayaking tour inside the South San Diego Bay. Kayakers use waterproof binoculars and field guides to observe wildlife as they paddle through the Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve with local experts leading the way.

Trip Highlights

  • Eco Tours offer a unique experience showcasing the South San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge, the nearshore waters of the Pacific Ocean, and the many species that inhabit this biodiversity hotspot. Local experts guide tour guests around San Diego Bay by bike, kayak, or whale watching vessel.
  • Wildlife Kayaking topics include an overview of the population of green sea turtles that live in San Diego Bay, threats and challenges facing native and migratory species, and what we can do to ensure our region’s environmental health. Be sure to be on the lookout for the endangered green sea turtles that live in the bay!
