OC Receives IEA Community Leadership Award

On October 5th, 2016 the Industrial Environmental Association (IEA) held its first annual Foundation dinner in downtown San Diego. Ocean Connectors was one of four nonprofit organizations recognized at this event for giving back to the San Diego community and contributing to the quality of life in Southern California. We are deeply honored that the IEA Research and Education Foundation selected Ocean Connectors to receive the inaugural award for Excellence in Community Leadership and Outreach.

The IEA Foundation dinner not only provided positive recognition of our work, but also allowed our team to meet with other outstanding leaders in the field and to network with local environmental companies. Ocean Connectors sends our congratulations to the other three inaugural award winners: the National Marine Mammal Foundation, Project Cornerstone, and Vulcan Materials!

The Industrial Environmental Association is a nonprofit association based in San Diego that promotes responsible environmental laws and regulations, facilitates environmental compliance with companies, provides a voice on a variety of environmental issues, and offers educational opportunities for the community.

We are grateful to have Ocean Connectors recognized by this prestigious award, and send our sincere thanks to Jack Monger and the IEA board for recognizing the value our environmental education programs bring to students in San Diego County.
